Custom downpipe for DPF removal and delete in Johannesburg
A downpipe is the exhaust section that sits directly after the turbo. On most modern diesels this is also where the DPF housing is located.
When we do a DPF removal we take the filter core out of the existing housing so the exhaust can flow freely. The original housing stays in place and the sensors remain fitted. We then delete the DPF function from the ECU so the vehicle stops regenerating, measuring soot and logging DPF faults. That is the complete job we recommend.
We also build custom stainless steel downpipes in Johannesburg. Some customers prefer a new fabricated section instead of the original housing. Others need one because the original housing is damaged, corroded, or no longer seals properly. A custom downpipe can also make future work easier if the vehicle is modified further.
We have tested both methods on our dyno many times. Removing the filter core from the original housing and fitting a custom downpipe produce the same power. We have never measured a difference. A custom downpipe is not a power upgrade on its own. The gain comes from removing the restriction and deleting the DPF software, not from the shape of the pipe.
If your vehicle already has a clean, solid DPF housing, removing the core is enough. If the housing is damaged or you simply prefer a new stainless section, we can build and fit a custom downpipe as part of the job or on its own.
All work is done in Johannesburg. The downpipe is made to suit the vehicle, the turbo flange and the rest of the exhaust. We also carry out the matching DPF delete software so the ECU no longer looks for the filter.
Pricing depends on the vehicle and whether the downpipe is done together with a full DPF removal and delete. Contact us with the make, model and engine for an accurate quote.

ECU Remap vs Chip
ECU Remapping, also known as software upgrades, is widely regarded as the safer and more effective way to optimise engine performance—when done correctly. Unlike plug-and-play chips, remapping allows for...
Most companies in South Africa selling so-called performance chips, tuning boxes, plug-and-play chips, or performance modules do not tell you that these are simple electronic devices that intercept...
Let’s chat about plug-and-play systems—the ones that connect to the common rail pressure sensor. Usually, when you get in touch with these guys and start talking about dyno runs to prove gains, they’ll...
